STFX Alumni Play in NHL

On January 21st, 2010 FX Hockey Academy alumni Dustin Kohn played his first game in the NHL. Dustin who plays defense, suited up for the NY Islanders as they won 2-1 (SO) against the Florida Panthers in Uniondale, NY. In his first game he played a regular shift and assisted on the only regulation goal of the game for the Islanders.

Dustin attended the hockey academy for two years while playing in the WHL for the Calgary Hitmen & Brandon Wheat Kings. He was later drafted by the NY Islanders in the 2nd Round of the 2004 NHL Draft.

This is a historical accomplishment as Dustin becomes the first FX Hockey Academy alumni to ever play in the NHL. Congratulations to Dustin and his family on this outstanding accomplishment!!
